Lushomo Payment for December 2020

December 23, 2020

Dear friends,

Here is a copy of the payment order for 500 euros for the Lushomo children’s home, which currently houses 13 girls who are victims of sexual abuse. We have been supporting this home since 2012, and over the years, during our trips to Zambia, we have always brought greetings from all of us to the nuns and the girls. Just recently, a six-year-old girl came to this place, which is, above all, safe (and, thanks to some friends, now very colorful, too!). The nuns recently sent us some photos of the girls and young women, but out of respect for the hardships these people have endured, we decided from the very beginning not to publish any images of Lushomo’s residents.
We hope that for them, as for all of us, 2021 will be a year of renewal.
Best wishes to everyone, and thank you as always for your support.

Update: September 2020

September 24, 2020

Dear friends,
This week, following the Zambian government’s decision, all students in the country have returned to school (including Twabuka). We therefore sent 1,200 euros (in addition to the 800 euros already sent) to the school cafeteria to ensure that the service could continue for everyone.
Thank you for helping the students maintain a sense of normalcy!

September 2020 Payment

September 14, 2020

Dear friends,

Today, just as in Italy, classes have resumed in Zambia, and school has also resumed in Twabuka. In a timely manner, on September 8, we sent the funds (800 euros for the two classes they attend) to help get the school cafeteria up and running again. The big news is that next Monday, September 21 (following a recent announcement by the President of Zambia), classes will be extended to all students, who will then be able to return to school.

We are making arrangements to secure the necessary funds to get the cafeteria up and running for all 300-plus children in Twabuka. Come on!!!
