FROM ROME: A fundraising concert was held on Sunday, November 26 (see photos here). It was a wonderful evening filled with old and new friends, and we were able to raise a total of 3,221 euros —enough to cover nearly three full months of cafeteria costs!
FROM LIVINGSTONE: Unlike in Italy, the school year in Zambia ends in early December, and the new school year therefore begins in January, following the Gregorian calendar.
Kelly, who lives in Livingstone and helps us with our projects, met with the teachers in recent days and shared the good news that the eighth-grade students will be able to continue their studies in January because the school will be opening a ninth-grade class for the first time: This is also thanks to our school lunch program, which has attracted about 100 more students over the past two years. We are reviewing the 2018 budget with the teachers, in part to determine whether it needs to be adjusted due to the increase in the number of classes: certainly, the extension of the academic program is wonderful news!!!
Best regards, and thank you as always for what you allow us to do
