Yesterday we received the attached photos, which document both our school lunch program and some moments from the school tour.
In particular, you can see photosof the school garden, which is lush and productive (onions, peas, squash, tomatoes, beans, green beans, and, of course, corn). This initiative helps the school supplement its cafeteria and also sends a positive message that our support does not stifle local and community efforts to participate, even with the limited resources available.
Then there are some lovely photos of the school cafeteria, which —once again this month—continues to serve the more than 300 children at the school thanks to the ongoing, steady support of our project and donations.
Below are some photos of the exams that students have been taking over the past few days: it’s nice to know that during this time—which is filled with stress and hard work for students all over the world—even our friends in Twabuka can face it without having to worry about their daily meals.
Finally, here’s a photo from the end-of-year celebration for the 9th-grade students who have completed their studies. We hope the school will be able to offer a 10th-grade class soon. In the meantime, good luck to these young men and women: let’s hope that the time they’ve spent at Twabuka will serve as a valuable foundation for them as they embark on adulthood.
Greetings and thanks to all of you from the Twabuka school.
