Following the annual recent visit to our projects in Zambia (Livingstone and Sinde Districts), I am happy to send you a brief report on what I saw while being there. In general, I can assure you that the projects proceed very well and that it was a pure joy to see the impact of our efforts and donations on people\u2019s and communities\u2019 life. Seeing the kids at school while food is duly delivered it is just wonderful and the words of gratitude that I collected from the Staff of the school and some of the kids \u2018 parents belong to all of you that helped and are still helping to make all this possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Twabuka School
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

During my visits at the school, I could verify that the works we supported (750 euros) to repaint the kitchen<\/b> were beautifully done<\/b>. More, the food delivery, food storage and organisation<\/b> was smooth and properly executed<\/b>. This is also due to the special strong character of the Head-Teacher of the school, Mrs. Reginah, a real pillar for our project: she can handle with discipline more than 300 students<\/b> and the whole staff (15 teachers plus 3 cooks and other daily random workers<\/b>) and is very dedicated to the school and the kids.<\/span><\/p>\n

While in Twabuka I also managed to meet with the Greenfield Family that, together with other friends, joined us last year from the USA to support our project, by funding 50% of the feeding project cost. They came all the way from Florida to see the project and enjoyed very much when the experiend in person the feeding project in progress at school. They confirmed \u2013 also on behalf of their friends from New Mexico (Lyon Family), that will keep supporting our project in the future \u2026 and we are very happy about this continuous strong support! <\/span>

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Sala di Zwelopili Reading Room<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

There was a great atmosphere when we visited Zwelopili. We supported part of the works to complete the structure in 2013<\/b> and, since then, we are keep delivering a bit of school tools <\/b>(and randomly financial support) anytime we visit Zwelopili. The reading room is managed by two qualified teachers (Claudia and her sister Rockxi) who are currently payed by a UK Charity. Unfortunately, the structure is currently short of books and we are studying a way to collect some English books for students <\/b>to be sent to Zambia when possible (any help on this aspect is very welcome). <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>Lushomo Home
\n<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

We support this home since several years. Lushomo currently hosts nine girls being victim of sexual abuse<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the visit, I verified that the works we sponsored to repair<\/b>: a) the roof<\/b> of the computer and meeting area and, b) the toilet<\/b><\/span> <\/b>(<\/span>euros 2,000<\/b>), were perfectly done<\/b>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While Lushomo is also supported by a Rotary Club from California, we confirmed that will keep supporting the girls and we will soon send a further 2,000 euros<\/b> to pay for the girls studies expenses and general needs. <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last, a very good news: while in Zambia I learned that other schools are creating a feeding project, having seen the great success at Twabuka. Simonga school (in the same district of Twabuka) has recently started to deliver food because some of their students left Simonga and preferred to join Twabuka because of the feeding project. More, Muke pre-school has started a little feeding project for breakfast, created by a British woman (Bridget, that I met while in Zambia), that liked our project and decided to replicate it. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>My friend Kelly (who lives in Livingstone and invented the feeding project at Twabuka), already replicated the feeding project in several schools and pre-schools supported by the lodge she works for. <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again, also on behalf of the community of Twabuka, the nuns working at Lushomo and Claudia and her sister working at Zwelopili, I <\/span>thank you<\/span> all for the donations and great support you gave us and that are keeping our projects alive. Grazie!!!!<\/span><\/p>\n
